Multisector Plan For Aging

Congratulations, Colorado! (April, 2025)

April 17, 2025

Colorado just released their MPA draft!

Colorado has released the first draft of their multisector plan on aging. The five high level goals of the plan, which is a 10-year blueprint, are:

  1. Support age friendly, connected communities

  2. Develop a healthcare system that supports older adults

  3. Sustain and tailor long-term services and supports

  4. Bolster Colorado’s economy

  5. Prioritize economic security for older Coloradans

This is a state-led, community-run plan. In order for it to work, state agencies, local governments, the business community, nonprofits/community based organizations, higher education, etc. must all work together. Because we are all aging, many people and organizations are already doing this work! Now, it is time for us to collaborate on ways to best meet the needs of older adults.

An initial draft of the plan, which lays the groundwork for the future, is now available for review. Coloradans statewide can also give feedback about the plan using CDHS’s online form (Google Form). The form will close May 30, 2025, and the plan will officially launch in July.

New blog highlights the National Aging Readiness dashboard

As the U.S. population ages, leveraging data becomes essential to address the evolving needs of older adults. A new blog post from Generations explores how data can drive smarter policies and programs—highlighting the National Aging Readiness Dashboard, a new tool designed to track progress and readiness across states. The dashboard, developed by West Health, helps identify where states are leading or lagging in key areas like healthcare, housing, and caregiving, offering a data-driven path toward a more age-friendly future.
